[RECIPE] Strawberry Mille Feuille

I finally got wifi at my home so I can easily connect to internet via my lovely laptop and off course can easily post and update my blog. Yeay!

So, I've made this super easy sweet treats, I think, since 2 months ago. I know... i know.... I'm such a lazy gurl LOL.

This is super easy to make, I promise you and super delicious yet super fat. Oh yeah, I don't know why but I've been controlling my food a bit more strict lately. I meant not super strict until I eat like a vegan, but I reduce my meal's portion, eat less meat as possible, eat or drink low fat and less sugar stuff, and eat fruits and vegetable as much as I can, and off course no fast food in my list of meal. But if it's holiday I can't resist sweet treats LMAO ;)

I adapted this recipe from Nasi Lemak Lovers :D
This will make 2 servings

Ingredients
1 sheet of puff pastry (8”x8”), thawed
200g whipping cream (dairy)
30g caster sugar
1/2tsp strawberry flavoured powder (optional, for colour)
Fresh strawberry (to taste)
Powdered sugar, for dusting

Steps
1. Line a baking tray with parchment paper and preheat the oven to 180C.

2. Place puff pastry sheet on the baking tray, using a fork, prick holes over the whole pastry to prevent it from puffing up while baking. Slice pastry sheet to half. Bake for 25mins or until golden brown. Remove from oven, wait till slightly cool, slice each sheet into 3 small rectangular.

At first, I only pricked holes like that, not much and the pastry became so big and thick. It became so puffy. So I pricked more holes, like this:

3. Add sugar and whipping cream in a mixing bowl, place this mixing bowl over a large mixing bowl that filled with ice water. Beat over high speed till soft peak.

4. Put your strawberry into the juicer as much as you want and blend it. Then, add to the whipped cream and continue to beat till stiff peak.

This is after I put in the strawberry juice. You can see there is a difference in the texture. But I don't use the strawberry powder so as you can see the colour is a bit plain.

5. To decorate, place one baked puff pastry on a serving plate, pipe cream on top and place some strawberry. Place second piece of baked puff pastry, pipe cream and place some strawberry. Then place third piece of baked puff pastry, dust with some powdered sugar then serve.

See? Look how easy to make this sweet treats. And I'm telling you that this pastry is hard to resist! So you better get up and get your body work baby ;) If u feel that 3 stacks of pastry is hell too high, you can just grab a pastry and dip it in the whipped cream and take a bite of fresh strawberry! That's hell of a yum!!

This sweet treat is also flexible you can change the filling with whatever you want, lemon, chocolate, or kiwi. I ever made this with passion fruit juice, it's so delicious off course. Just do as you like :)

[REVIEW] Paul Patisserie Pacific Place Jakarta

Finally my exam is over and I finally could taste an internet again because my internet at home super sucks >.<

Sooooooooooooooo I know I have been very lazy to update in this month and finally today I'll make another post.

I went to Paul Patisserie in Pacific Place Jakarta with my friend. We were so curious about this place because the hype was so high when this place opened for the first time so we decided to give it a try.

Luckily we came at the right time. The restaurant was full when we came and we were the first in the waiting list. After waited for about 5 minutes finally we got our seat inside. Yeay!

These are the display of their patisserie next to the cashier for those who wants to buy for take away. I can't take a lot of photos because it was crowded.

In total, we ordered 2 cakes and 1 set. A lot? You gotta see by yourself. Because, I told ya, once you were there, it feels like you wanna try all they have. So here it is.

1. Millefeuille Fraise
IDR 50k (not inc. taxes and service charge)

OMG!!! I LOVEEEEEE THIS CAKE so freaking much. For me this is the icon of Paul, the best from them. It looks so beautiful. I had to stared at it a few minutes until I finally ate it because it looks so good for my eyes.

The pastry were so crunchy while and the filling tasted so fresh and not too sweet. I love it! Super Perfect combination. I love the sliced strawberry in the filling it makes the cake so balance and have the sour, sweet, crunchy, salty, and cold.

My advice, you all HAVE TO try this then you know how nice this is.

2. Tartelette Framboise
IDR 55k (not inc. taxes and service charge)

It looks so beautiful too *cries*. The pie crust were too hard not crunchy so when you want to cut it you need to give a slightly more power. But the filling and framboise or raspberry were fine, super fine. Again, I love when fruit combines with pastry, it feels so fresh and it tasted so balance, it has all the flavor you can imagine you'll get from what it looks like.

Oh, what I don't like from raspberry is they got some kind like fibrous thingy outside the fruit so I feel kinda disgust when I'm about to eat this. But the taste is great so.... Yeah LOL

3. Menu cafe Surprise 1
IDR 95k (not inc. taxes and service charge)

The set consisted of:

a. a teapot of tea which you can choose what kind of tea you want and I chose Earl Grey

FYI, this tea is refill as much as you wish. Yeah! But the waiter said if you refill too much the taste would be plain. LOL. I know but it's refill as much as you wish sooooo I feel glad. HAHA

b. creme brulee

I love how is tasted. But it wasn't fully caramelized at the top so it didn't look delicious, it looks kinda pale.

c. Chocolate something (I forgot the name it's kinda like brownies)

When I was looking at their menu and saw this cake, it looks really nice and looks so tempting and we actually wanna ordered this single piece. But then, I found the menu set that this cake is included in that. So we ordered that set instead of the single piece. Unfortunately, the result didn't look as tempting as the picture is and the taste was so ordinary. For me, nothing really special about this cake.

b. Macaroon

These are they small macaroon, the one that cost around IDR 40k or more are the big macaroon. Both of them got different flavor.

Personally, I don't like macaroon. Seriously. I don't know why lol. The one that I ate is pineapple flavor. It's crispy outside but super soft in the inside. It's not too sweet too. But still, I don't like macaroon LOL ;)

Overall, I love this place, it's so comfy even tho it's quite crowded. I'm super in love with the pastry! Seriously, it's worth the price. Just perfect, melt in my tongue. I would definitely come back to try their main course because it looks super delish.

So after we finished eating, we went around the mall and went back to Paul because I wanted to but it for take away. Guess what? It was getting more crowded than we were there before and the waiting list was surely got a lot of people.

This is the box to take away

For addition, you also have to pay taxes if you want to but it for take away.

This is a must try place! Worth for every bite! I promise. Lemme know if you have tried this :)
