[REVIEW] Paul Patisserie Pacific Place Jakarta

Finally my exam is over and I finally could taste an internet again because my internet at home super sucks >.<

Sooooooooooooooo I know I have been very lazy to update in this month and finally today I'll make another post.

I went to Paul Patisserie in Pacific Place Jakarta with my friend. We were so curious about this place because the hype was so high when this place opened for the first time so we decided to give it a try.

Luckily we came at the right time. The restaurant was full when we came and we were the first in the waiting list. After waited for about 5 minutes finally we got our seat inside. Yeay!

These are the display of their patisserie next to the cashier for those who wants to buy for take away. I can't take a lot of photos because it was crowded.

In total, we ordered 2 cakes and 1 set. A lot? You gotta see by yourself. Because, I told ya, once you were there, it feels like you wanna try all they have. So here it is.

1. Millefeuille Fraise
IDR 50k (not inc. taxes and service charge)

OMG!!! I LOVEEEEEE THIS CAKE so freaking much. For me this is the icon of Paul, the best from them. It looks so beautiful. I had to stared at it a few minutes until I finally ate it because it looks so good for my eyes.

The pastry were so crunchy while and the filling tasted so fresh and not too sweet. I love it! Super Perfect combination. I love the sliced strawberry in the filling it makes the cake so balance and have the sour, sweet, crunchy, salty, and cold.

My advice, you all HAVE TO try this then you know how nice this is.

2. Tartelette Framboise
IDR 55k (not inc. taxes and service charge)

It looks so beautiful too *cries*. The pie crust were too hard not crunchy so when you want to cut it you need to give a slightly more power. But the filling and framboise or raspberry were fine, super fine. Again, I love when fruit combines with pastry, it feels so fresh and it tasted so balance, it has all the flavor you can imagine you'll get from what it looks like.

Oh, what I don't like from raspberry is they got some kind like fibrous thingy outside the fruit so I feel kinda disgust when I'm about to eat this. But the taste is great so.... Yeah LOL

3. Menu cafe Surprise 1
IDR 95k (not inc. taxes and service charge)

The set consisted of:

a. a teapot of tea which you can choose what kind of tea you want and I chose Earl Grey

FYI, this tea is refill as much as you wish. Yeah! But the waiter said if you refill too much the taste would be plain. LOL. I know but it's refill as much as you wish sooooo I feel glad. HAHA

b. creme brulee

I love how is tasted. But it wasn't fully caramelized at the top so it didn't look delicious, it looks kinda pale.

c. Chocolate something (I forgot the name it's kinda like brownies)

When I was looking at their menu and saw this cake, it looks really nice and looks so tempting and we actually wanna ordered this single piece. But then, I found the menu set that this cake is included in that. So we ordered that set instead of the single piece. Unfortunately, the result didn't look as tempting as the picture is and the taste was so ordinary. For me, nothing really special about this cake.

b. Macaroon

These are they small macaroon, the one that cost around IDR 40k or more are the big macaroon. Both of them got different flavor.

Personally, I don't like macaroon. Seriously. I don't know why lol. The one that I ate is pineapple flavor. It's crispy outside but super soft in the inside. It's not too sweet too. But still, I don't like macaroon LOL ;)

Overall, I love this place, it's so comfy even tho it's quite crowded. I'm super in love with the pastry! Seriously, it's worth the price. Just perfect, melt in my tongue. I would definitely come back to try their main course because it looks super delish.

So after we finished eating, we went around the mall and went back to Paul because I wanted to but it for take away. Guess what? It was getting more crowded than we were there before and the waiting list was surely got a lot of people.

This is the box to take away

For addition, you also have to pay taxes if you want to but it for take away.

This is a must try place! Worth for every bite! I promise. Lemme know if you have tried this :)

[REVIEW] Gudeg Yu Djum Yogyakarta

Yeay, finally homey after visited relatives's houses because it's (finally) Chinese New Year :) My legs are tired even tho all I did for the whole day was just smile, talk, "kiong hi", and eat off course. So got nothing to do anymore, here I am (finally) found something to blogged.

I visited this restaurant when my last trip to Yogya, in late 2013, right before new year's eve.

Everybody are saying that if you come to Yogya, you have to try this gudeg. So here I am..

Basically there are two kinds of gudeg, wet and dry. The wet type has a lot of sauce, and the dry type only has a little sauce. This Yu Djum's gudeg is the type of dry gudeg.

There are a few branches of this restaurant. I tried in two different place.

This one, I tried in Kaliurang Street (if I'm not mistaken, poor my brain, i forgot T_T). There are three billboards besides the road, it contain three different restaurant of gudeg, and one of them is Yu Djum. BUT, to get to the Yu Djum one, you should walk a little further from the main road and this restaurant is in a house (maybe this is the headquarters).

I came at night, I think around 7 or 8 PM. Gudeg? Check! There were still available, so did the egg, check! BUT, the only chicken that left were chicken wings and there were only 2 or 3 pcs left (I'm not a fan of chicken wings, but that's the only left behind so what can I do?). Anyway, I was still the lucky one, because the customers after me definitely can't eat the chicken plusssss the egg was out of stock too LOL.

This located in the middle of the town, just need to walk a little further because the place is, let's say isolated. But they never out of customers just out of stock everyday.
Addition, you can park your car inside or in front of the restaurant but the place is small, so if it's crowded (poor you) you have to park on the main road and have a bit exercise.

around IDR 20k

This one I tried after I bought some souvenirs, around Road Magelang-Yogya, it's right before I was going home. I accidentally found this restaurant LOL (fate to eat this before coming back haha). This place is not located in the middle of the town and only consist of 3-4 tables, so yeah it's small. If you want to be more easier, try this before you come back home.

I'm telling you again, I was the lucky one too, the next customers after me, didn't get the chicken because it's out of stock! Fate goes to me LOL

Btw, you can see the difference between the egg compare to the first one. The second egg were too dry I think, so it became hard especially the outside. I don't know whether they cooked it too long or what. But the first egg were fine.

around IDR 30k

I surely love this gudeg! I love the taste, I love how the gudeg melt in my mouth (over act? lemme be sometime). For me, the "krecek" was too dry (it's only the matter of personal taste). But overall, I love it. I'm telling you, it will be even more tastier if they serve with hot rice, that would be parfait!
About the price......... I think this was my most expensive meal in Yogya.

Lemme warn you guys! If you really wanna try this restaurant, you MUST come early to try their best!
