[F&B REVIEW] Itadakimasu Restaurant, Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK)

This restaurant is located in Pantai Indah Kapuk. For some of you who are not familiar with PIK's area, this restaurant isn't located in the usual area which there are lots and lots of eating place like Sumoboo, Pungopang, Shirayuki, Shirokuma, BC's Cone, etc. This located in let's say it is a new area that I know that soon is going to be happening.

Alright! Back to our business. I knew about this restaurant from eatandtreats's blog (of course and as always LOL). Maybe a lot of people get hooked with this restaurant by the super cute looking food. Well, gotta admit, it is super cute!

The service was quite well. I went last Saturday at lunch time. The restaurant was full. Me and my friends had to be in the waiting list. But around 5 minutes later, we got our seat and it was on the second floor. The menu was already on the table so it is very efficient. There were a couple of waiters on the second floor so you don't have to go up and down if you want to order or if you want something.

The restaurant itself has a very cute interior. There are a couple of, well it looks like, a painting of the restaurant's icon at the second floor. The painting become sort of a wallpaper. Even on the stairs they got this big painting on the wall.

Here they are of what we ordered.

1. Starving Panda

IDR 48k (not inc. tax)

Well, well, well. This is like the star of the show. I assumed that the one panda that it's head fell down in the curry as the symbol of hungry. Maybe some of you questioned, why is the presentation looks so bad. I gotta tell you guys, that is what coming to my table to be honest.

Lemme tell you a story. As I said before, the restaurant was full and so did the 2nd floor. The table next to our table already had her food, it was also Starving Panda. Me and my friends took a glimpse of the food and we had high expectancy. But, the moment our food came, the expectancy gone far away. As you can see, the presentation is quite "dirty". What I meant by "dirty" is as you can see, the curry spilled on the panda and a couple spots again.

The chicken katsu looks super pale, it's not golden brown. But! The table next to us who also ordered the same food, looked so perfect, it is golden brown, no spilled curry, clean presentation. Our plate was just some ordinary round plate, but her plate was the fish-shaped plate. Maybe they run out of plate but aren't you supposed to have a lot of plates and supposed to served the same dish with the same type of plate... I know I complain a lot but I feel disappointed tho.

The potato and the carrot were not cooked well. It was still tough and the amount of it was too little compared to the whole food. Like you can count them with your fingers, especially the carrot. As the whole food, if you compared them, the amount of rice and chicken katsu is not balance. Maybe you only see the rice as 5 panda but it is actually A LOT because it is so compacted. The curry taste okay, nothing special. At the first bite, the pepper was going to kick you.

2. Sweet Drugs Churros
IDR 35k

This is super unique. I haven't seen anything like this before. It comes with three sauce, nutella, green tea, and cheese. The nutella sauce was too runny and the nutella taste wasn't strong. The green tea sauce was too thick. The cheese sauce was okay so I prefer this one rather than the other two.

This is the nutella sauce. Look how runny it is.

This is the green tea sauce. Look how thick it is.

The thing is the churros was quite though. It was quite hard to eat it. To be honest, I am quite dissapointed. Too much quite in a paragraph I need to stop LOL!

3. Ice Cream Sandwich Churros

IDR 30k

The churros in this dish was quite though too. The ice cream was not really sweet so it is a good thing. But the texture was quite flaky, and it melts as fast as the lightning HAHA.

I think presentation is everything and become the secret weapon from this restaurant, so maybe they could work harder to keep up the same presentation even if the restaurant is full. While on the other side, they should also work on the taste as well.

P.S I am not trying to make negatives impact on them. I wrote this honestly based on my experience when I was there. Hope this become an advice for them to help them improve.

[F&B REVIEW] MyCoffeegram on Instagram Review

So, this is gonna be a short review about a coffee treat that I bought last month. As you guys know that bazaar has been a thing lately in Jakarta and I think in Indonesia too. There must be at least one bazaar in a week somewhere in Jakarta.

I was strolling around a bazaar in Senayan City Mall with my friend who was gonna buy some food. Then, we walked past this MyCoffeegram stall. The guy was so friendly and gave us some sample (well I actually asked tho). In the end I bought their Cafe Latte. If you guys go through their instagram page, you would see that a lot of Indonesia's entertainer have tried their product.

IDR 20k

I know, I know this is not really a good photo because I didn't have any intention to write a blog post about this. But, why not right? This actually taste pretty good. It's just too sweet. Just way too sweet for me. And the price is quite expensive tho. IDR 20k only for a couple of gulp. Man.... But I do really like their bottle LOL!

It's short right. I told ya.

[REVIEW] The Cup Indonesia, Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK)

Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiii! Geez, I finally working my a$$ again on this blog. I've been so so so lazy to write, I fell ashamed for myself. Anyway, I actually have been going to some new places, especially dessert house, for the past a couple of months.

And I went to this restaurant called "The Cup". I knew about this restaurant because a foodblogger posted about it so I thought why don't I give it a try. I thought the restaurant is a dessert house, but actually they're not. They originally came from South Korea and they have main course too, that served in a cup that looked like a chinese food box in U.S. I didn't order it because I'm actually quite full.

So, I ordered "Matcha Bingsu", Bingsu or bingsoo is actually a Korean shaved ice with some toppings. This dessert became come popular lately, as the K-pop started to invaded the world. LOL.

"Matcha Bingsu"

 IDR 52k (inc. tax)

I must admit that the presentation of this dessert is mouthwatering, except their "slowly gone" logo on the board. The shaved ice are so soft, when I was eating it I don't feel like it's a shaved ice. The texture almost kinda like a cotton, and it's white while ice are usually uncolored, clear like water. I personally liked the ice because I didn't feel like I was eating an ice. As you can see, the toppings are almond, matcha powder, wafer, mochi, green tea ice cream, red beans, two sticks of Pocky and a drizzle of sweet condensed milk.

Start from the green tea ice cream, it taste wonderful, well actually it's the same taste you'll get everytime you go to dessert house that served greentea ice cream as a topping. I honestly didn't like the mochi, the flavor is bubble gum and I think it's not suitable and matching with the green tea flavor.

The flavor and the smell of the matcha powder wasn't strong, it didn't give me a "matcha kick" (is this makes any sense LOL). The one that I bought from a cooking shop would still win over the matcha taste.

As you can see, the portion is kinda big, could be for 2 persons. But, it didn't have any fillings inside (of course because it's a toppings) and the shaved ice is tasteless so I think you might wanna eat your toppings wisely lol. About the price, I think it's a bit pricey for just a bowl of dessert and to mention that they didn't give quite amount of toppings.

Overall, truth be told, this is just some of the dessert that looks absolutely mouthwatering. Meanwhile the taste is so ordinary.
