[F&B REVIEW] Gojira Ice Cream Bars, PIK

If you come to PIK areas quite often, then you would notice that the changes to a restaurant is happening so fast. Like, if one restaurant is closed then it doesn't really take too long until it opened a new one. This restaurant is quite a new one, called Gojira Ice Cream Bars. It's located right next to BC's Cone, ice cream's restaurant buddies huh.

When I came here, it's not really full but people were keep coming, so I could sit there, talked with my friends and relaxed. This place is so cozy. There are also a lot of electrical sockets under every sofa, I sat on the sofa, but unfortunately it wasn't working.

So, anyway, judging by it's name, of course this restaurant's speciality is ice cream. But they are not only selling ice cream of course, there are other foods like pizza and martabak. They also sell drinks like milkshake and coffee.

Here are what I ordered.

1. One Flavour Twist Ice Cream
IDR 20k (not inc. tax)

Matcha and Black Sesame twisted

Cheesecake and Blueberry twisted

Overall, Gojira have 6 flavours. There are matcha, black sesame, chocolate, plain, cheesecake, and blueberry. You could buy from one until four flavour. You could also buy with the twist option, just like what I bought. So even when you buy the one flavour like I did, you could still get 2 flavour that twisted. But you can't choose to twist any flavour, there are matcha with black sesame, chocolate with plain, and cheesecake with blueberry. You are allowed to choose from these option if you want to for the twist one. As always, you could choose either with cup or cone. The waitress said that they made the cone.

Now let's get into the tasting. I honestly not satisfied. The taste were plain, I could barely taste the matcha and cheesecake. Even the black sesame doesn't taste strong. The blueberry one taste just like a candy that probably all of you have known. All of that not too sweet though but not too much to taste to be honest. These are soft served ice cream so it melted easily.

I like the cone, it buttery and not too crunchy, probably because it already get along with the ice cream. With that price which is quite affordable, as we speak this is a restaurant in PIK, the portion is big. I felt so full after ate this.

2. Choco Mars Pizza
IDR 75k (not inc. tax)

Pizza as a dessert might be a common thing in other countries but it's quite rare to find one who sell them in Jakarta. About the name, when I first read it I thought there will be a chocolate Mars as a topping but nope, it's only a name. So this menu is what caught me the first time I was looking at the menu.

It took quite some time until this menu was out. The pizza crust is the thin type and looked like it was cooked in a traditional pizza oven. The toppings are cheese, chocolate chips, small bits of Oreo, and marshmallow on the edges. No doubt, this looks absolutely attractive.

Unfortunately, it didn't have the base sauce so it's super dry. When you cut it, the toppings were falling everywhere because it's dry so the toppings didn't stick to the crust. But the taste is pretty good. The marshmallow was't really melted either so it didn't stick to the edges crust.

There are 8 slices so you could definitely share them and this only come in one size. One more thing, this would be best eaten while it's hot. If it's cold, it would be even more dry.

Overall, the service was great, it's fast, the waitress are polite and kind. The place is very cozy. The pizza took quite a long time to be out. The price is very affordable with a very acceptable and worth the portion. BUT, they really need to improve the ice cream's taste. If they named their restaurant with ice cream bars, how could your ice cream isn't that great though. They also need a little bit improvement on the pizza but worth to visit for the pizza.

P.S I don't know why the photos looked so bad, is it only me or what the hell is happened I have no idea so I'm really sorry...
